    Position optimisation

Hour Record success and the launch of Adaptive Human Performance

3,000+ bike fits performed, in Melbourne’s thriving cycling community. Adaptive Human Performance quickly became the premier service provider of professional bike fitting and aero testing services in Australia.

    Elite-level position optimisation services

ISCO Conference – Kinematics of Optimised Time Trial Positions

Trusted by STT Systems to present on the “Kinematics of Optimised Time Trial Positions”

Educational content on biomechanical analysis in maximising time trial performance

  3. 2018

    Position optimisation

    Sync Ergonomics is launched

Differentiating the Sync brand and product from the position optimisation service of Adaptive Human Performance.

  4. 2018

    Aerobar development

    Aerobar One

Released in late 2018, it gave athletes, for the first time, the complete ecosystem of bolt-on components to achieve a true high-hands time trial position.

The success of the AB01 no doubt contributed globally to normalising the high-hands time trial position. In the present day, who rides with flat forearms? No one, but pre-2018 flat forearms were considered normal.

  5. 2019

    Aerobar development

    Aerobar Two

Aero testing pushes the evolution of our AB01, to cater for more advancements in position optimisation. Higher stack, greater reach and dedicated angulation.

AB02 did away with the restraints of OE aerobar components, with its own robust package of spacers, extension clamps and extensions. The AB02 laid the foundation architecture of the aerobar solutions we still sell today.

  6. 2021

    Aerobar development

    Aerobar Three Custom (Ti)

Throughout 2020 we worked on a new extension concept, a custom 3D printed Ti extension, with geometry unique to each rider’s forearm scans.

Versions of these were raced in both triathlon and UCI competition in 2021, including Luke Plapp’s heroic victory at the 2021 AUS National Championships, putting more than 60 seconds into Aussie hero, Luke Durbridge.

But the cockpit that influenced our current product offerings the most would have to be Josh Amberger’s. Still today, it’s one of the most heavily engineered products we have made.

  7. 2022

    Brand partnership

    Sync x Team Bike Exchange

Sync Ergonomics is synonymous with performance upgrades for the iconic Giant Trinity. The switch to Giant for the 2022 season saw an opportunity to work with GreenEdge Cycling, for cockpit and driveline solutions for their performance requirements.

Our relationship was launched in fine style with Adam Yates storming to a victory in Stage 1 of the 2022 Giro and Matteo Sobrero representing the National jersey (ITA) with high regard, marking the return to winning ways for GreenEdge.

  8. 2022

    Brand partnership

    Sync x CADEX

The release of the CADEX Tri Frameset in 2022 demonstrates our experience with position optimisation and our dedication to providing class-leading ergonomic cockpit solutions.

The CADEX Tri frameset is a no-holds-barred triathlon machine, engineered and developed to deliver a more personalised fit, race-ready integration, superior real-world aerodynamic performance, and maximum efficiency. Sync was chosen as the partner to develop an aerobar solution for the CADEX Tri bike.

  9. 2023

    Aerobar development

    Aerobar Three (Ti)

The final production version of our AB03 Ti extensions combined our knowledge of position optimisation with a wide spread of the geometry we had utilised in all of our custom extensions. A modular design that was semi-customisable, thanks to bonded construction, the AB03 Ti was a unique approach to the challenge of a performance time trial extension.

Thanks to the easing of the UCI regulations, AB03 was used to great success by UAE Team Emirates, GreenEdge Cycling and AUS Cycling in 2023.

  10. 2023

    Brand partnership

    Sync x UAE Team Emirates

In 2023 UAE required a high-performance aerobar solution to complement the newly released Colnago TT1, and the incoming 2023 UCI rule changes on extension geometry.

The Aerobar Three Ti extensions met their performance requirements and delivered results in competition for team leaders and Time Trial specialists alike. Tadej Pogačar, João Almeida, Adam Yates, Juan Ayuso, Brandon McNulty, Jay Vine and Tim Wellens all used the Sync Aerobar Three Ti to great success.

    Aerobar Four

The results speak for themselves. Olympic Gold. World Championships Gold. CFD developed, wind tunnel validated, raced to successive Olympic and World Championships Gold.

AB04 was our most ambitious project to date, the production of a complete 3D Printed Titanium aerobar solution, developed from the basebar up, with outright aerodynamic performance in mind.

  13. 2025

    Aerobar development

    Aerobar Three (Carbon)

With hands-on experience we know the importance of fine adjustment – for this reason we wanted to take our modular approach to the AB03 and move to a mechanical clamping interface for the extensions.

Carbon offers distinct advantages over Ti: lighter weight, better vibration damping and improved production capability. The AB03C ticks all the boxes and sets the standard for a production high-performance aerobar solution.

  14. 2025

    Brand partnership

    Sync x CADEX

In 2025 we released the Aerobar Three Carbon time trial extensions, a product co-developed with CADEX. The Aerobar Three Carbon is our third generation of aerobar, and the third iteration of our integrated aerobar option.

The lineage is traced back to the first Aerobar Three Ti extensions we made for GreenEdge, with the geometry evolving from the custom-made aerobars of Yates, Sobrero and Durbridge. Sold as both a CADEX and Sync aerobar, the Aerobar Three Carbon represents the benchmark for modern extension solutions.

Aerobar Three (C) – Evolution Continues

In 2026 we have launched a rolling update to all fit kits for the AB03C, further improving setup options, adjustability and aero performance.

With updated fit kit architecture, our highest performing aerobar solution is now more versatile and user friendly than ever. With these updates, the AB03C even more firmly cements its status as the benchmark of high-performance time trial extensions.
